Hit, but not politically: Water mission gives BJP planners food for thought

BJP’s internal surveys reveal that voters give full credit to Modi government’s housing for all scheme, but are indifferent about the Jal Jeevan Mission. The feedback system is helping BJP formulate their strategy for the upcoming elections in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chattisgarh. While some senior leaders believe that voters are not linking the piped water scheme to the Modi government as it is implemented at the panchayat level, others believe that it will take time for the target population to become aware of the scheme’s benefits. BJP plans to focus on development issues and expose corrupt governments of Congress-ruled states.
