Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will visit Nepal on January 4-5 to co-chair a meeting of the bilateral joint commission and hold talks with Nepalese leadership on various areas of cooperation, including connectivity and development. The visit aims to strengthen the close and friendly relationship between the two countries as part of India's "Neighbourhood First" policy. Issues such as electricity purchase, connectivity, and trade are expected to be discussed during the visit. Some development projects completed with Indian assistance may also be inaugurated.
